CLEAN WATER TOUR EXTENDS THE IMPACT FOR WATER AWARENESS - A COMMUNITY FOR PERSONAL & CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

April 1, 2014

"No matter where you live on Earth, with every drop of water you drink and every breath you take, you are connected to the sea.” Dr. Sylvia Earle - Mission Blue

AUSTIN, TX - April 1, 2014-Clean Water Tour officials announced an online community & live entertainment platform for the global clean water crises focused on delivering education and solutions, built around science. The Clean Water Tour is teaming up with the world’s leading water scientists, researchers and technologists to form the fabric for an online membership community that is dedicated and responsive to tackling clean water issues and making an impact around the planet, one city at a time. “We’ve designed the Clean Water Tour in an ultra-portable way, bringing the conversation onto school campuses, clean-water-friendly businesses and onto mobile phones,” said Conor Quinn, president of the Clean Water Tour. “The conversation continues at concerts, campuses, movie theaters and sports venues where we connect directly with attendees in person, through our mobile APP and alongside our giant Christie video wall that visually tells the story of what is really at stake."

The first “star” scientist hitching to the Clean Water Tour is Dr. Andrea Neal of Blue Ocean Sciences, who believes that the key to a sustainable impact to solve clean water problems begins with our home and business water taps. As the “Official Water Testing Partner” of the Clean Water Tour, Blue Ocean Sciences and their Hope2O water testing kit will contribute to mapping the world’s water supply, while also giving customers the most affordable and comprehensive water testing solution on the market today. “Most people don’t realize that when water leaves their municipality, downline pipes that lead to their homes are rarely tested,” commented Dr. Andrea Neal. “Our customers will not only gain peace of mind knowing their water filters are working properly, but also gain satisfaction knowing they are helping to solve problems by contributing their test results anonymously to science.” IHope2O kit (List Price: $125, Member Price: $75). Available online at www.cleanwatertour.com/store.

Dr. Neal and the Clean Water Tour will work closely with Mission Blue to bring together the scientific community. “Mission Blue is keen to explore authentic ways we can use technology, such as programs we’ve developed in partnership with Google using Google Earth”, said Charlotte Vick, Partnership Director for Mission Blue. “We also look forward to exploring media and brand program partnerships to activate the many educational extensions afforded by the Clean Water Tour’s growing footprint.”

Thanks to a reputation for tech innovation, social responsibility and music, Clean Water Tour officials selected Austin, Texas to launch the Clean Water Tour. This past weekend, the Clean Water tour powered a sold-out concert at the Austin Music Hall on Friday, March 28, starring country music sensation, Jerrod Niemann with the Swon Brothers and Deejay Silver, presented by, All-State Insurance, Miller, RAM, KASE & KVET (Clear Channel Austin), Christie, Blue Ocean Sciences, Mission Blue and Extended Digital. “Austin is the first of hundreds of cities around the planet we intend to establish sustaining operations around clean water over the next few years,” said Cord Pereira, Executive Producer of the Clean Water Tour. “The Clean Water Tour can literally plug into and adapt to any existing event format, creating a win for event promoters, sponsors and the local community.”

The Clean Water Tour continues in Summit County, Colorado at Keystone Resort on April 5 for the "Community Cup” hosted by pro snowboarder and environmentalist, Chanelle Sladics. "The Community Cup showcases 21 Olympic Women Snowboarders competing on a slopestyle course designed by the riders, while also focusing attention on environmental awareness, eco workshops, and healthy living,” said Sladics. “The Clean Water Tour brings its message of clean water awareness to our event, as well as a concert performance by Clean Water Music artist Jeff Brinkman.”
